Once, behind a window frame,
I found a little bottle. It must have been left there by the French architect who built the house sometime in the ‘30s.
I managed to decipher the text on the bottle’s label:
"Etablissements Bernard-Escoffier Fils,
Grasse-Lyon, E1".
And what intoxicating scent emanated through the brittle cork from the brownish liquid at the bottom of the bottle!
My wife’s childish collections include a tiny blue round box. When you unscrew the lid, you discover a recess on the bottom,
the size of the tip of your little finger.
It is slightly greasy and smells good. On the lid of the box
there is a picture, a floating white swan.
